Get to Know the Field Service Schedule Board in CRM

Field Service organizations can empower schedulers and dispatchers in ways they never have before with the Schedule Board functionality in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Field Service.

The Schedule Board provides all schedulers with an “Initial Public View” that includes all resource types, service territories, and unscheduled work orders to give everyone a high-level view of needs and availability.

Users also have the ability to quickly build their own tabs by pulling in data from default CRM system views and configuring them to their needs. Configuration options include the ability to color-code resources who are outside of their normal working hours and whether or not you want to see a field technician’s last GPS sync location. These tabs can be made public to all schedulers or kept private for the user that created them.

Once the tab has been created, users can filter based on Resource Type, Service Territory, or Resource to determine what is displayed on the Schedule Board.

Additional Schedule Board configuration options include:

  • Time (incrementally from hours to years)

  • Views (horizontal or vertical)

  • Actions

  • Get Driving Directions (for single or multiple resources)

  • Move All Open Bookings to Next Day

  • Print the Schedule Board

  • Create a New Booking Alert

  • Options that allow you to Select:

  • Time Zone

  • Group Records by Resource Type

  • Working Time

  • Minimum Time Resolution

  • Number of Days in the View

  • Row and Column Sizes

  • Whether or not to show Travel Time on Bookings

  • To Hide Cancelled or Deactivated Bookings

  • Filter by Unscheduled Work Orders

The Details pane on the Schedule Board gives schedulers a snapshot of important booking details and alerts. The information in the Details pane is pulled from CRM system views yet is configurable to fit each schedulers’ preferences.

The Map View allows users to track bookable resources in field as well as unscheduled work orders by location.

If configured to align with your scheduling processes and preferences, the Field Service Schedule Board in Dynamics CRM can make your Field Service scheduling and service delivery more efficient!
